Getting a loud pop and no audio from speakers.

I haven’t driven my car in six years. It’s getting close so today I decided to see if the audio still worked. Head unit fired up and I could hear beeping as I went through the menu. Plugged in the USB and tried to play a song and I heard a pop from the speakers then the head unit restarted. Same thing happened with the radio. Any idea what would cause that?

Doesn’t sound good but you may find a forum for the specific brand/model.
