Glove box latch disassembled

Hey guys I'm working on my '70 Dart Swinger and I want to repaint my dash frame along with my glove box door. My problem is that I can not get the chrome knob off the front of the glove box door to disassemble the latch mechanism to paint the door. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
