good freeze plugs

I've had MUCH better luck with the "thin", "deep" bras plugs.

I believe RRR posted the correct link for a complete set.

Deep helps them to go in straighter, brass and thin helps them to conform to slight irregularities better.

Brass also lasts longer vs corrosion.

The thick, shallow ones tend to get cocked and can spring back out easier.
 
I was thinking that brass might not grasp as tight as steel but I've never heard any complaints.
they are bell/cupped and thick enough and will hold(its going to take alot more than 16psi to push one out) /with small /light wire wheel clean the holes /light coat of rtv ultra black and tap them in with a right size socket or if your not sure of yourself

Brass is softer, again to conform better to irregularities.

No sealant should be needed.

It's a tight enough fit that most of it will get pushed into the water jacket.

If I felt anal about it, I'd use something like copper coat.
