Everything is tiwan or China now a days.I gave in and got a Abu Garcia 7ft pole and a Shimano XLR 150 no backlash reel.Havent bought the line.Ill have to get the warden to tie it in the reel and I'll do the rest.

Shimano is good gear. All my reels are Shimano.

Used to be things made in Japan were really good quality. Now, everything's junk.

The bad part is The banks in Texas are full of fire antsLooks like a dandy. I haven't been fishing since I got back into cars.
I have never really gotten used to a bait caster reel.
In 2021 my son and I hit a local lake and caught around 30 bass. I was hitting them good and called him to tell him to stop on the way home from work. That was my last time fishing. I didn’t even buy a license in 2022 so that has to change this year.
I haven't had a license for years until 2021. We have "Forever" licences here for us old farts.
