Got my Papa's old '65 Fargo back in the family

That dash-mounted shifter is pretty cool, usually see column shifters in older trucks with auto transmissions.

Beautiful truck, just out of curiosity what is the knob on top of the dash and the fold down gizmo between the speaker grill and shift lever?

Pretty sure that is the Nitrourboinjectorizer! Special order only available on 1965 Canadian Fargos. You guys down there got screwed again in 1972 by Ma Mopar!

Awesome Mike. Not everybody can find, let alone recover a family jewel.

Man, what a beautiful truck! I'm very happy for you that you were able to get it back in your family. I would probably drive back and forth in front of the guy's house where you saw it first, blowing the horn and waving.....lol. You may already know how difficult the power steering on Swept Line trucks is to work on, so if you see parts trucks sitting around....grab some spares if you can. I used to have a pristine 70 D200 that had that "push me-pull me" PS on it. It had a half round of slack in it that made driving the truck about like driving a dirt track car.

That is a super cool truck! I know you're glad to have it back!

I looked closer at the power steering, it's a Toyota conversion! Looks like an early 80s Toyota pickup box. I've seen the conversion done on 60s Ford trucks, I guess someone did the same on this. It works fine, I have no reason to pull it out.

That's great! The stock PS on those trucks looks like a steering stabilizer with about 8 hoses hooked to it.
Yep, at first I thought, "Oh no... I have some super oddball power steering, where will I find parts for it when it fails?"
Glad it's something that they pumped out a million of.
I have the push/pull power steering on my '73 F250 4x4, and yep, it sucked to rebuild.

A few of us met up at our weekly Tuesday night beach meets in Qualicum, good showing of Sweptlines!

The orange '71 belongs to my friend Wayne. It's on a '92 Dodge 4x4 chassis, with a 4BT Cummins from a piece of machinery. It was originally a 383 auto, with factory A/C.

On the other side of mine is my buddy Jim's '67 W200 short box. It's a 313 Poly, 4 speed, Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front. He's done a ton of work to it, just got it on the road the other day.

Nice truck, especially to buy it back in that condition.
I really like the 71 I had a 2wd years ago and drove it daily, totaled it on black ice. Sad day
