Was a fun day at work. Got to be side by side with many Baseball greats in Cooperstown. Including George Brett, Roberto Alomar, Goose Gossage, Yogi Berra, Rollie Fingers, Wade Boggs, Ricky Henderson and many more at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Our department did crowd control for the Baseball Hall of Fame event and I was one of the guys to do the Security portion with them in their "beer Tent" while they waited to start the parade.
Today I am going to the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony for more crowd control. Should be a relatively small crowd this year, especially compared to when Cal Ripken Jr and Tony Gwynn were inducted.
I am not a big baseball fan, but it was still pretty neat to be side by side with some of the greats.

I have been seeing it in person for the last 4 years. If you ever come out this way, PM me. It is a good time, but I am right next to the guys while they are signing autographs and such. It is one of those enjoyable life experiences. It is still going on right now, about to finish up. Then I am escorting the Hall of Famers back to the Otesaga Hotel, where they are staying.

That would be too cool!! George Brett was the man when I was a teenager--- I learned to dislike the Yankees because the Royals could never get past them !!
What do they think of the direction of the last 15 years or so-- it no longer is america's past-time. currently my 17year old is infatuated with the game!! Lawrence

Sweet!!!!!!!!! My dream is to one day attend the induction of Ken Griffey Jr. into the HOF.

Thats pretty cool! Lots of great names there.....did Alomar spit on you?? LOL Im a blue jays fan..being about 1 1/2 hours NE of Toronto...he was an amazing player...but when he spit in the umps face...oh yeah and his ex is charging him with not informing her of him having HIV when he slept with her.....great player...but not a nice guy. Sorry to rant...lotsa great names Goose was amazing too!! Rollie still have the wacky stache??

I was at cooperstown last summer.....I love it there. I'm a huge Yankees fan, so it was cool to see all the great yankees stuff they have there. I might go again this fall.

Nope, no spit. He was quite drunk though... : )
Rollie still has the handlebar stache.
And goose pitched a Game here in Cooperstown last month that I did the "security" for. He still has an arm on him, just amazing how fast he can still throw.

If you come up during the classics game, PM me and I will get you some tickets. That is a really enjoyable game, Goose usually pitches.

Ya, Brett was signing a lot of autographs. He was signing a bat, I almost told him not to sign it on the pine tar, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it : )
I talked with Pat Gillick about todays game, he was not real interested in talking about it. He was more interested in politics and current events.

Pat Gillick was/is quite the baseball mind...In my opinion he was the best thing to happen to the Blue Jays. I remember watching Goose pitch when I was growing up...could really fire it then...not surprised he can still bring it!
