Those guys are hilarious. Any car guy will love that show. They get into some great detail. I would love to see more actual work but the story lines are great. kudos to them for letting the camera’s into their lives. They have my dream job! :happy1:
 
i love the show and Marks sence of humur,and he definetly seems down to earth ,he is one of my facebook friends and actully writes back when you comment on his page....lol i would love to work there that would be my dream job!!!! old mopars all day

Nice! I've been watching the show for a few months now and certainly enjoy it. Mark sure seems to know his stuff and I get the feeling that the "arrogance" thing is purely for drama.

The only thing I noticed is he's too heavy on the RTV when he's assembling engines. :)
 
Why is the body shop called Welby's? I thought Marks last name was Worman?

I cant answer that that has been the name sense he started over 20 years ago...the times I stopped by we just talked Mopars and always known him as mark but he did tell me he has a 68 cuda convertible coming up 383 car so there's the A body asked about

First, thanks for the photos! Second, I agree about the rants and I want to add that the non-car related drama has no place on the show! I like their work, but they are super annoying. I only watch because I am picking up detailing tips - so thanks to them for that. I have been told by fellow Mopar friends that they don't watch because they can't stand the drama either. I think they are making Mopar people look like kooks, so I wish they would just edit the drama parts out - thanks.:violent1:

I did tell him in a very respectful way some of the commence that I read on this site that echo your feeling on the over drama and he was interested in what I was saying I totally believe if it was up to him it would be more if not all tec and spec but he said that he felt he was making more it fun for wife's to and maybe not just hard core gear heads and I get that. he is having fun and good for him!!

As much as our small group would love it, it's not a how to show. It's supposed to have multiple angles. One of those is them building nice cars. One of those is them being crazy and having some drama.

I feel like most of it is intentionally over the top. Not exactly fabricated, but not as serious as most people think. I almost feel like Mark is like a Will Ferrel character on the show. I think he's being arrogant and serious, and then he transitions directly from talking about how much he knows about mopars, and about how he does everything, to about how he could read and write when he was born. At that point, I realize he's obviously not being 100% serious.

It's just their sense of humor. If people heard the way me and my wife talked to each other when we're not even being serious, people would probably send us to counseling.
 
I watch the show but the ridiculous amount of plugs he throws in so he can get free **** is bothersome. Blah blah garage door installer, blah blah lift installer, sand blaster. etc etc...
Otherwise he is a knowledgeable guy.
 
I arrive in Eugene tomorrow at 8:30 am to visit my daughter for her birthdsy. She lives in Springfield and I hope to get by his shop somethime tomorrow. Will take some picks and respond next week when i return home.

Bingo.Its the only car show my wife dvr's and we watch together because its real life to most extent.If a camera crew followed me around I can say for sure it wouldnt be suits and ties.it would be joking and having fun.How many ppl on here type stuff thats way out there but still know how to tune a carb?My point is everyone has charecter flaws at some point he just shows his more often.Besides all the other car shows is just product placement and little restoreing if any.

You really think the guy just walks around all day acting like that?

It's all fake man. He already posted and said that he'd like the show to be all about Mopars but the producers won't let that happen. They want drama, drama, and more drama so it's up to these guys to just rag on each other and create awkward situations for the sake of television.

At least it seems like they're building real cars and not going to fake auctions and paying $4900 for a 70 Dart body without a drivetrain. I just wish they'd at least fake the drama when working on the cars instead of arguing over sandwiches and ****.

The one 'car' show I could only ever tolerate a few times and in small bits was the Boyd Coddington one...man, I don't think I could've tolerated that guy and half the people working in his shop.

That show has gotten much better since he got rid of the the a$$hole and duschebag son in law. Less drama more cars. that's all we want to see.
 
They do everything back to stock boringggggggggggg..you can find a lot of people to do that..the best show on t.v.and one of the ONLY shops I'd trust is Fantom Motor Works they do some nice custom work along with making everything NICER then when it left the factory:thumbsup::thumbsup:
 
Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and behind the scene info about Mark. I enjoy the show, even with the drama. Anyone who has ever been on or around a television production will know that the producers demand the drama and stupid stuff. Awesome post, thanks again
 
As far as the name, I had heard that he purchased an existing business with a good reputation and kept the name

That show is right near me in Norfok, Va. Todd, from Aerodyne Machine in Portsmouth, Va is the same guy I,ve been using for all of my machine work for about 25 years. I like the show too.

Fantom Works irritates the hell outta me. He acts like everyone else is a hack except him..then there are his overinflated prices for stuff...Give me a break $ 50,000.00 for a factory A/C for a 52 Caddy and about the first time he flatspotted my brand new tires with his phoney Brake check he would be buying me a new set. I can take or leave the show.
 
I thought I'd recycle this because of the renewed interest right now. This is the old shop.
