You could probably drill a few holes in it to allow the heat to come threw but it may weaken it a bit.
 
If you are going to have them CNC it would be no problem to have a plate made that would still let the defroster work.

All you should need for the air to get threw is a couple of 1/4inch holes.

I like that bracket better also. :thumleft:
 
I was thinking you could machine slots in there and it would look nicer and flow better than a bunch of boles.
