Th

Thats come up before . I don't know. I could look up pictures. Do you have one. ?
In 68 there was no swinger so the bulge hood with the 68 style inserts was unique to the GTS LS23 model.

69 the same hood was used but with updated inserts for 69. The swinger 340 LM23 and GTS LS23 shared the same hood, there's no difference.

Thanks sis . I knew someone had the answer

Minor I know, but some applications have the tiny holes punched for the model identifiers (emblems) in different places. I think some are center front of the hood and I know GTS models are off to the drivers side front.

All three variations of that hood ('68 GTS, '69 GTS, '69 Swinger 340) had different emblem holes for the front of the hood.

Here is two pictures of 69 and 68 hoods. Two holes on the 69 and 6 holes on 68. I have welded them up before. They will fit ether year. I have use the AMD hoods they are very nice. I would trade the 68 hood for a new AMD hood. I had the hood blasted it is a good . Has one front corner push in not bad easy fix. Can that picture. If interested. Thanks

That body line in the center of the hood is usually sanded out on a used hood. You'll be happy and no rust behind the hood hinges.

Man that looks like a lot of work to get rid of that line

Getting rid of it is easy. 80 on a orbital sander and create some heat and the crispness of the line disappears. I owned so many of these Darts original and repainted and have seen the destruction of that line. How many paint shops do you know that would tape that line and sand to it. Just like the lines on the sides they just sand and round them off. Looking down at the hood while sanding you don't see that line.

I refuse to sand a car for paint unless a scuff and shoot. Every A-body done here all the exterior paint on the panels is removed chemically. Leaving all of the original metal on the car except for rusted metal. Places where there is rust we use a fine crushed glass. Blasting sand is another deforming material. If you ever watch blasting with sand at dusk it looks like a flame thrower.

I thought you knew this. Dave

NICE.

I cringe every time I hear mark worman say "we have to recreate the style lines".
(after the 1/8" skim coat he puts on everything)
