Atlanta's 'Spaghetti Junction' ranked No.1 truck bottleneck in U.S.
(Also known as "Malfunction Junction")

I can't prove it, but I maintain that Atlanta drivers are the "worst" in the country by several metrics.
And it's only going to get worse.

Why Atlanta is again the No. 1 moving destination

It won't ever get better.

I always HATED going thru Atlanta with a convoy of bucket trucks headed to Florida to help get the power back on after a hurricane! Cars running 85 mph, and won't even think about letting you over. It's ok though....I was bigger and just put the blinker on and eased over and took the lane I needed. :icon_fU:

The watermelon 400 or 500 sucks.Anything bad you'e seen can be topped here!

I absolutely HATE Atlanta. BUT.......and I say this on a right regular basis, the BEST and FASTEST way to go through Atlanta is straight through on I-75. You try to use a perimeter and you will regret it.

85 mph? LA's 10/405/101 never get that fast....8.5 mph is closer during daylight hours unless your running at midnight.

I totally agree with RRR! Straight thru is best. It's tolerable to me as long as I'm in a regular vehicle with some get up and go, so I can change lanes when needed. But when I was driving my bucket truck that weighed 32K lbs. and was governed to have a top speed of 74 mph.....it was pretty frustrating! :BangHead: :realcrazy:

Been through that area a few times. I'll travel that at night. Thats it.
There is also no way to get off if there is a problem. Your just screwed and tattooed.
It can be tuough where I am at. BUT! The saving grace is the express way has a service road. Accident? When it gets bad, you get off and follow the service road passed the wrecks and then get back on.

I always take 275 west...that east side is a bottle neck 20 hours per day.

I've been thru everyone of those on the list...multiple times.

AJC Deja News: 50 years ago, ‘glorious things’ expected from I-285 (1969)

Atlanta has the "deadliest".
Does that count if we grade on the moron curve?
From the article.

America's deadliest interstate is in Georgia, study says

And the trucks.
Oh my word.
The trucks.
Again, when you are sitting still is decreases
the chance of getting killed.
Unless you are in Atlanta.
Twice this year.
Last time a car hit the firefighter working the accident.
Roadway reopens after fatal wreck involving firetruck on I-20

I Despise driving through Atlanta. Hell, I don’t even like flying into ATL. I think everyone that works at the airport is pissed because they had to drive in that traffic on the way to work.

Nashville is not any better. Dam I have to go through Atlanta tomorrow.

Do people being hit by a car on the interstate happen other places frequently?
It seems to be becoming somewhat pedestrian in ATL.

There was an UBER driver stopped on the freeway after his passengers got in a fight or something so he called 911 and pulled over or just stopped, unclear. One of the passengers got out and ran across the freeway and was hit and killed by.....a policeman responding to the same call! Here is average LA traffic at 6pm....featuring the good 'ol 101. Note the speeds....

A little info on the 101: its one of the oldest freeways in So Cal so the design is very primitive. Sharp turns, narrow under passes, off ramps that are about 200 feet long and dump you to a stop sign. The on ramps are just as bad, but do let you test your 60 foot times..as they are about that long.

I've said it before and feel it bears repeating.
Sherman burned Atlanta once, and it should be done again. Soon.

I think Houston Texas has the worst traffic and drivers. The only problem with our roads is they weren't designed for traffic. 2 hours to get 25 miles from downtown to Katy . .what a mess!
