I agree on straight through Atlanta and I time my trip so I'm there at late as possible at night.
I took the bypass once. Once.
Jacksonville is pretty bad as well. IIRC they even have two bypasses.
Don't take "the long one". It can add an hour.
Going straight through you get sharp curves, rapid up and down elevation, constant construction and poorly marked lanes.
There's a "malfunction junction" at 4 and 275 in Tampa.
A few years ago they spent dozens of millions of dollars to "fix" it, and didn't change a damn thing to the way worse Westbound side. Nothing.
The trick to get through is "wait until the last minute" and then get all the way to the left as quick as possible.
The only real change they did to the eastbound side was add a left exit that traps you in that exit lane if you're not careful.
