Not sure what they were thinking but some previous owner of my 67 Barracuda hacked the holy S#@* out of both the trans and T. Bar cross members when they changed the car from a column shift to floor shift. Definitely needs replaced before the 440 swap, Currently talking with a FABO member who may have what I need for replacement parts.

Even though it looks bad now, consider this... If it had been in pristine condition you would want/need to alter it. The 727 doesn't fit the 67 a-body tunnel very well at all. The 67 trans mount cross member wasn't dual exhaust friendly either. So buy and french in a late model tunnel and weld in a late model cross member for that support and duals. You'll end up ahead.

It's a 3 speed trans. Going to be an 833 4 speed.

The 67 and up have the same tunnels. That is an early manual trans with a trunion joint.

They just cut the tunnel and installed the shifter on the side, no manual hump on the tunnel causing interference with the shifter and the cross members... :wack:
