I don't know everything......boy, is that ever an understatement. In fact, I have said as much probably over 100 times in this very forum. What I know would fit on the head of a pin......with room to spare. That said.............

I love it when those of us with experience.........pick who you want, you know who you are........give advice and then are ignored....or get "no that's not it" as a response.

Only to find later "we" were right. So MANY knowledgeable people here. crackedback. ABodyBomber, TrailBeast, whitepunkonnitro.......and on and on and on.......forgive me if I left you out, simply too many to list. You know who you are. Yet, so many WITHOUT knowledge continually REFUSE to take advice.

And so........and I am SURE some of you have noticed this change in me........."I" am no longer offering ANYTHING more than once. I will offer advice ONE TIME and THAT'S IT. Wanna listen? Great. No? Then that's your decision. Am I always right? **** no. More often wrong than not......but I KNOW what I KNOW, just like all the other names I mentioned and then some.

Wanna be stupid? Be stupid. But we tried to tell you.

Yeah, you guys all know your ****...

But you can lead a horse to water....

Part of wisdom - if you don't know the answer at least figure out who you can trust to get it from....

Some people are idiots, others are full of ****, then others are f*ckin nuts...

**** Karl, you're right in there with the best of um. With all your how tos and your knowledge and advice from all your experience. Ain't too many people have a wing car in their garage, either OR have worked on the Chrysler assembly line. But you have both.

Thanks...

But like you, I get tired of telling people what it could be and then others jumping me and telling me that I'm wrong...

So I keep to myself and offer suggestions once in a while... Not as often as I used to...

Here's a quick video of a burnout that we did in Eddie's Dart...

We built this with the advice of you, my head guy, and me... (With you, the head guy, and me combined; there's close to 100 years engine building experience in this engine)

Eddie and I turned the wrenches together and double checked all torques and it runs great...

This is the one that we took your recommendation for a cam grind and where to degree it... And helped us get through the push rod length issue...

Eddie smoked his brother's bone stock 69 383 4-speed Roadrunner with the 340 Dart...

Proud papa Eddie, admiring it after we finished and dreaming of driving his baby...

I cannot take credit for that. I did "recommend" a camshaft, but yall had full control to use whatever yall wanted. I am glad it turned out so good, though.

Yeah you can...

We used your expertise on the computer dyno program to pick a cam...

How many times did you tell us to get an adjustable push rod, then after three tries of them sending us the wrong rods, we caved in and got one...

That helped us figure out the correct length that we needed and we got it right on the next try... Finally...

Half the problem was communicating the sales and tech guys, some of them didn't know how to reference the length...

You were there on the phone a couple of times when we needed some help...

This is THE very reason I stopped offering advice on Internet forums...I may ask questions but....

Me and you both my railroad brother. It's fixin to cool off here fore too long and I have acquired lots of parts for my projects. Yall will see me disappear soon. For a while.

Seeing this...can't help but think how many times the same questions get asked..."What's the best fitting header" being one...no matter how many times it gets asked...or how you word it...the answer isn't going to change
I have always wondered if Del has answers saved on his computer and just pastes his answers. If not I can't help but wonder how many times he has typed "do you have a factory service manual?"

i wish RRR was my uncle.

i have listened to some of what he said regarding life and cars and it made a difference that i won't forget.

we don't chat so much lately but it's not for lack of interest. we will ketchup soon.

i am still rat cheer

Excellent post, Robert. Appreciate the kudos.. I don't offer much info anymore, because I occasionally get a numbskull , that questions personal experience... Sometimes you explain the reasons, and they still argue... I let the chips, fall as they may.

when i saw the title to this thread, i thought we were talking about cylinder heads that can run on regular unleaded

Hey guys, Great post, but don't forget there are a lot of us out here that listen very closely to all the advice you give, me for one. I may not post the many things I've done to my car but a lot of it has been done on the advice you give to other people and I thank y'all very much. Please don't stop giving advice completely, I assure you there are a lot of us who do listen! Again Thank You for sharing you're expertise its much appreciated.

Jeff

Open forum = discussion / point and counterpoint. Does it often read argumentative? Yep. How often is that simply ones perception of what is read? Anyway...
The end goal is everyones "happy moparing" and we always get there, One way or the other.
Thanks to all who contribute/carry the ball.

New to this forum, not new to pulling wrenches or to forums in general. From your demeanor,i can tell you are knowledgeable and after (im guessing) years of sharing that knowledge you get tired of repeating yourself.
I have zero experience building engines, but a lifetime of fixing them. If and when i decide to persue more performance im certain there is hundreds of threads covering whatever i want to do. I search i read. When my cigarette lighter quits i dont hop on the forum (s)and post questions, i figure it out and fix it. Wish i had an example, but people will ask the same question across many forums on the great wide web. Everybody wants the cheapest answer.

I was once a polite young man, then i became a mechanic.

Im new here, find all the info overwhelming and appreciate all you have done as well as the others of comparable stature.

For the better part of a month,my neighbour was having a problem with his Dart. I said fuel. Way too much. Pull (new holley) and bring it over. Nope. Kept fiddling.
Smart guy, but his perception of the problem was spark/timing. Took car to some specialist, carb was polluted(packing material) and waay out of adjustment. A month of frustration. What i said, fuel. A month before.
You arent alone, just some filter a little better than others.

not worth getting worked up over.. post your advice and if they listen then great if they don't its on them..
Like to add to this,
Just move on and don't do the back and forth thing. A lot of people just read and do not respond. Don't stop people its all good stuff thanks

Thanks...

Same here.... I know what I know and offer it up every now and then. I stopped doing that as much because I got tired of being ignored only to find out 80 posts later that I was correct. Not that I can't take being wrong - that is not a problem - it's just that I tire of of being TOLD I am wrong when I am not. So I lurk and read.....

I've said this before, I think a big problem is modern tablet devices. I don't think people "think" with them the same way they do a "real" computer. The screens are smaller, graphics are more difficult to deal with. The "new improved" software on this site bundles up quotes and makes them somewhat hidden. There is a number of issues, besides just "not payin' attention."

And no, I don't copy/ paste much, except the links I post to other threads, MAD, the MyMopar sources and so on.

I DO admit that sometimes I don't read as closely as I once tried.
