anyone out there running theses rockers on a 440 with stock type wedge head. I have 452 castings on my engine. running the old Herb McCandless .650 lift comp cam.

what clearance issues have you had.

so far had to cut them for valve spring retainer clearance and now it looks like i may have to cut them for pushrod cup clearance.

I am running them on my 440 with 906's and have not had any clearance issues.

are you running a mechanical solid lifter?

roller cam?
hydraulic cam?

these rockers have been nothing but trouble for me. thinking about putting some ductile iron rockers back on it.

You might try changing your keepers to a -.050 which may help increase the clearance you need.

We ran a CC .650" [email protected] solid flat tappet with HS roller Rockers on 906 heads, on a 1968 +.030 440-6 block, used triple roller cam springs that came with the BV heads with the small spring removed, no issues at all, that was in 1990.

I have used them to .790" lift on 906 heads without modifying the rockers.

its alive again. cant wait to take it out for a drive.
