HELLO from OREGON: thank you for your response: will try that methoed of locking the flywheel; iam working on my 72 demon with 340 moter/ 4-speedFor starters...........what engine, in the car, out of the car?
Engine in the car, remove dust shield off tranny, or remove starter, stick a screw driver, pry bar, what ever works to wedge ring gear so it won't turn as you tighten bolt.
Engine out of car on stand, use 2 flex plate/ flywheel bolts in crank hub so that you can stick a heavy duty long screw driver / pry bar in between so it will lock up against engine stand as you tighten bolt.
Small block bolt torque, 135-140 ftlb.
