After almost 3 months my stroker motor has reached final assembly !!:prayer:
I get a call from machine shop - "we are putting together your motor and it seems as the #5 main bearing
has been miss packaged (two bottoms), no oiling hole?"!:banghead:
call jegs who calls scat who will only 2 day mail them to me (not the shop). Called the shop and told them - "no problem we'll just set it aside for a couple of days !" NNOOOOOO!!!!#-o

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.....

Oh man! I would be flipping out!

Luckily my engine was only out a few months for my cheap build but I had that problem with the rear main seal. Got the wrong part twice and ended up just tracking down a guy that had one laying around in his garage!

really ? The wrong #5 main bearing ?
(edit) oh you had a main seal problem .

Can't remember exactly what we got mixed up with but I remember it was too long and too narrow.

There was a muscle car race the next day that had a big money pay out for dot tires. I was assembling the motor and hoping to have it at the race until I ran into that problem. Then I was on call for three weeks at work and dealt with sending it back and fourth. It turned into a head ache but looking back it doesn't really make a big deal.

that is funny...i was putting a crank in a 360 tonight...I noticed that both top and bottom half being have oiling holes...fully grooved rear main...the rest are half grooved....

what the heck? Are you messing with me ? Lol

Have they actually installed any of them?

If they have, I'd be popping off cap 1, 2 and 4 to see if they put a top half in a cap.

Production mess ups happen. Seen strange combinations of parts in boxes on occasion.

as one person said and I was pretty sure you couldn't do it just drill a hole in it? No oil gruve ether. lol lol. Here's a picture is worth a thousand words hopefully the new bearings will be here tomorrow. it reminds me of Sesame Street - which one of these things doesn't belong here song. After 5k plus I'm not going to just drill a hole in it ! View attachment 20150128_185957.jpg
