Have u parted a mopar ?

-
As for the toads I parted--- the red & light blue were not parted, the green(61) & black signet(62) are scattered throughout the US & Australia-- Many parts found new homes-- I would have gladly sold parts to you nuttyprof-- timing is everything , Lawrence

Parted out a '69 Dodge Coronet 440 4 door. Green on green. Would have loved to use it as a DD, but the springs were up through the trunk. Had a very nice interior and ran great. Appeared to be a well cared for car that the back half just rotted off of. Got a ton of parts for my R/T. Dash switches with perfect chrome, door switches that worked, nice inner door handles, window cranks, window regulators, remote mirror, and a cool aftermarket fm converter for the working am radio that will probably go in my car.

I've parted many many A-bods over the years, but the one that hurt the most was my first. 68 Barracuda 318. Air chiseled it into a hundred pieces. Nothing wrong with it, but my ex wanted it. Never found out whether it was ever pieced together again. Even so, it was still missing one part lol..

your looking at it wrong -- look at all the mopars saved or upgraded!!!
i was amazed at the differing requests for parts-something for everyone--- aside from the front grille/headlight eyebrows-- most cars were split in many ways(I wished I had keep a record)

I still have lots of parts left from all these cars, so if you see anything, just ask.

I sent a PM about some 66 Valiant Signet parts.

Anybody parted a mopar in the last year?

Let say were talking about a typical slant 6 early valiant or a 73 duster with 318 and drum brakes.

Is the demand big enough to make it worth parting out a car like this? I would assume you might sell $400-$500 in parts maybe keep the fenders and doors and scarp out the rest maybe earning a total of $1,000 or $1,200. Is that about right or am I way off?

I have never parted a car but seems that in the last year nothing I see advertise is selling. I have been watching a complete A body 8-3/4 rear end drum to drum non posi with springs, shock plates and e brake cables set for months at a $500 asking price and I'm not talking about rusted junk either. I would buy it but I already have an extra not being used. I also see complete engines like 360's asking less than $500 just sitting for months.

Again just wondering if in this new economy if it's worth the effort to part out a typical 40 year old car? Seems like you might be money ahead just taking the complete car to the wrecking yard and getting $500 and moving on with life.

We've only ever parted out two cars in my life so far.

-'68 Newport 4 door. 383HP 4bbl, 727 auto, green with green interior. My dad used it as a daily driver for a year or so. It was a low km one owner car that my dad's friend's grandma bought new. It was in nice shape but we wanted the 383 and 727 out of it for my Charger. We also took a bunch of other stuff off of it (door handles, remote mirror, radio, window winders, bolts etc).

-'89 Mustang LX 4 cylinder with a blown transmission so I could get the parts needed to fix my wrecked silver '90 5.0L.

When I build my '70 Coronet 500 down the road I'll probally end up finding a 4 door version to part out since mine needs a lot of parts.

Just cut this one all apart:glasses7:
I wanted the rear quarters for my other car.

1973 Duster 318 with 75,*** miles, very rusty, served as a winter driver till she gave up the disc brakes that are now in my 66 Valiant, the rest got parted and sold, should have kept more though, left the fold down rear seat stuff....

1966 Barracuda Formula S, this car was completely rusted, it was blue with blue interior and had a factory stripe, discs, swaybar, tach...all the goodies!! Anything good got stripped and sold, except for the 4-speed which is in my Valiant too :glasses7:

Also stripped a 1973 Satellite Sebring Plus, 79 Gran Fury 360 cop car and a 66 Chrysler New Yorker 2-door, some cars I help part out that dad bought were 2 66 Cuda's, a 68 Cuda coupe, and 60 Dodge truck.

parted a
65 barracuda 6 cyl
68 formula s 340 4 speed, used most of the parts to put my clean 68 s back together. still have the parts car don't have the heart to get rid of it.
Parted and junked alot of new cars, escort, cavalier, trucks.. etc

here is the latest parted car, 1965 barracuda

I picked it over pretty much, what you see there weighed in at 1200 pounds and netted me $117 at the scrap yard ($9.75 per 100#).

I don't use the gantry crane often, but it comes in handy when you need to load a large immobile object by YOURSELF!!
