Went to install my a-body headers on my Magnum engine today but the header pipe is hitting the block. The header is a long way from the head because of it. It is hitting casting for the upper mount bolt for a Dakota or 1/2 ton on the left side. Has anyone seen this? Did you dent the pipe? Which I'd rather not. Or grind the casting off? I was worried it may hurt the block if I grind it, but the appears to be plenty to grind off.

I had the same problem on my magnum motor and was using hooker headers. I just dented the header so it would clear. Just for info, I later switched to Dougs headers and they clear with no problem

How much of a dent? Trying to make this thing run 11.65 index. Need everything I can get. These are cheap headers, Headman or flowtech, something like that.

cut the piece off the block if ya can it'll make the car lighter and not dent up the header
