Headlight bezels + steel wool = CHROME!

I saw a pic of a car somewhere that had a blacked out grill and all the normal chrome trim around the grill along with chrome headlight bezels. I have a perfect grill I had bought and I have several pairs of headlight bezels, so I thought I would try cleaning them up. I spent about an hour on the first one. It shined up like chrome. I used a plastic pen to help push the steel wool into the edges and some of the tough spots. One down, one to go. Then a little paint on the grill and I'll have my look.

Nope. Leaving it chrome, and the upper and lower chrome trim around the grill. The grill itself will be completely black with amber turn signal lenses.

You must have rubbed hard enough to take the anodizing off. lol They look great!

What grit did you use?

Hit them with some metal polish when you're done & look out!:glasses7:

I want to find a buffer for my Dremel Moto tool to get in the hard to reach places. I have 30 or 40 different grinding and sanding attachments, but to buffing wheels. Not sure what grit. Whatever grit I had laying in my cabinet, I guess!

Even better very fine steel wool and dip it in reducer!!!!!!!!!!!!
