Hey FABO,

This is actually 2 questions.

1) Can anyone get me a pic of the factory routing for the headlight wires from the bulkhead? Specifically, where it passes through the radiator support. I know it runs down the channel in the inner fender, but which hole does it pass through to get to the headlight bucket?
I am working with an aftermarket wiring harness and want to follow the factory routing.

2) Is anyone using a headlight relay? Can I get a pic of where you mounted your relays?

I have heard of people mounting the relays under the battery tray.

Here are some photos when I replaced my driver's side fender. Many are passenger side but drivers side (IIRC) was mostly mirror image.

Heres where I mounted them. 67 cuda. Drives side on the leading edge of the core support. I used an existing hole. Didnt want to drill extra holes under battery bracket.

If you don't want to drill holes in anything, make a small plate using the vertical bolts which hold your battery tray in place to secure it. Most B/E guys do that if drillphobic.
 
I don't have the 1st picture on this new laptop yet. My homemade relay enclosure is on the right frame rail near the alternator. I had to drill 2 holes in inner fender and shorten the alternator swing arm about 1 inch. Space for more than just the 2 headlight relays.
 
OMM seen a lot of these so I'm sure that's corrrect.

You may find some variation in where the holding tabs are, depending on the model and year.
For example this is from the '68 assembly drawings you can see the slight difference between the Valiant, Dart and Barracuda.

View at X is pretty much the same, but tabs 6 are placed differently.
 
I put the relays on the right inner fender. Well protected and easy to access.
Since I used in-line fuse holders from West (Anchor) Marine no mounts for them.
My car's fender already had holes from aftermarket A/C that was removed.

Regardless of whether you hide them or not, they should be placed so the path from the alternator is short and away from engine heat.
 
Any issues with using a jumper wire from one relay to the other, for the GROUND wire? Or is it best to provide a dedicated ground to each one?
