They could be 340, if they're 2.02...but 'usually' those heads were -A or -F at the end of the number. I'll also add that they were introduced the same year the 360 came out so production started in '70 I believe for the '71 release of the 360 and of course those castings were machine for 340s too.Right, it's a 5 at the end.
So you are telling me these are 360 heads, not 340 ?
These are the heads that were on Ed Hamburger's car. Strange.
Then again I think he ran 360s also.
This is a picture of the heads.View attachment 1715603658
Thanks.
Interesting stuff. When I bought these originally the speed shop owner said they originally went for $3000. But when the W2's came out there wasn't a market for the Hamburger heads. He sold them to me for $1500. Fast forward 35 plus years, kids, houses, etc etc and here they are lol. Going back to a more stock setup for the street and passing on the bracket racing days.Ok what I know is they have headers that are fitting on to 340 heads so this was one reason they ere thought to be 340.
@Locomotion
As for the pushrod work, you are dead on as they are not straight like the stock heads, there was extensive work done on the heads, I would assume by Mr Hamburger himself, as they are similar to the T/A head set up.
Thanks again guys.
