So I would like to flush out my heater core and replace the hoses. I’m going through my entire cooling system.
I just want to confirm that the line to the heater core from the top of the intake manifold is the inlet, and the line from the water pump is the outlet. Thank u!

I found this for the 5.9's & 5.2's, and used it today to hook-up the Vintage Air heater valve on a resto-mod I'm doing for a buddy. I'm sure a similar search will result in a similar diagram for whatever motor your doing.

Just curious, is there a wrong way to hook it up? I would think that the heater core doesn't care which way the water goes through.

I know that, the OP mentioned getting the hoses on correctly. Is there a wrong way?

On my Darts the hoses are different sizes (diameter)...

I thought having the shut of valve at the entrance to the heater core would stop hot water from unnecessarily heating the cabin, but figure the water will heat through ether way. More slowly if it's shut off at the entrance, but eventually the heater core will have hot water in it given enough time.

There is no valve. Airflow diverter. Air into car or air out. There is always water flowing through the heater core. Yes, sometimes people in warm climates remove them. It's just a small radiator. Wonder if their cars ever run warmer after doing that.
