The first thing I want to say,

sorry for my bad english

Anyway,

Hello, im Ed from Holland

oktober 2006 I swapped my 1979 Chevy Suburban for a '68 Barracuda ( hell yeah :glasses8: )
There was a little bit of work on the car, infact, I had to put it together...
So I did.
Well, sorry for my bad English again :toothy9: so here a a few pics of the ''build up project''
They tell more then my poor english'is words :p

Here is how I got the car :

The 273cui power plant :p
It is restored (or something, just new parts n stuff in it ) but it had never run for 10 years !!!

As you can see, im a young fella, I was 19 there... :p
The first thing I did was getting the trannie, and new gasket's rubber thingy's needed to be installed, cause they were dry'd out.

( ill skip the whole project, if you can read in Dutch, go to : www.amerikaanseautopagina.com -> projecten -> pag. 3 or 4 --> Build Up '68 'Cuda ) :)

Anyway,

Here is the car after 7month's building and stuff. :)

Hehe, with the bricks on the left :glasses7:

I don't have any jacks, so ill use brick's instead :-\"

Ill say, it is safe, ive lied very very very much hours under the car, and it didn't move a inch.
In dutch ive had a couple of discussion's that it was ''unsafe'' and that I was ''crazy''

Total bull-crap if you ask me.....

Just look at this pic, does It look ''mad'' or ''insane'' of ''crazy'' to you ?

Welcome to the site. And you should be proud. That's one beautiful fish. Love the 240km/hr speedo.

Grant

thx, i drove it 1 time to 200~~210, and got damn, I almost crapt my pants :p

That was a bit scary, so I pushed the brake's at that moment, but man... that tiny engine just don't know when to quit...
I think I was at 6000~6500rpm when i was driving 200~210... and the engine kept on going.. and going... it eats the high rpm's, it's a great sound, when I hit the 4000rpm, man, the thing go's off !!!

I love is, above 4000rpm the thing live's :p

Looks safe to me. I may do the same when I get the 63 valiant home.

Nice car, looks clean. It must be fun driving around in a car that nobody else has.

BTW. Keep you finger out of them dykes, they can be mean!

nice car man! the bricks seem ok its just that "lift plate" you made that makes me nervous. i agree, the roar of a v-8 at 4000rpm and above is like nothing else............

Yeah, ive seen it.

Here in Holland is also a Notchback for sale. (fuckin cheap ! )

It's a ''paint and bolt'' project with a SL6.

Ive thougt about buying it, but a well... 1 car is enough, ive also have a motorcicle and an old moped, and i think if I buy another car the cicle and the moped are going to turn in trash, cause of the fuckin wet climate here :angry4:

So I think, 1 car, 1 motor, and 1 moped is enough fun/hobby time for me :toothy7:
