Hey guys and gals I have a few question about a good site to help me set my car up with a 4 link. (back story) I bought my 1971 plymouth scamp with not rear and complete strip ready to race :banghead: not the case but for the price I bought it anyways came with everything to put a link system under it and i just bought a 9 inch rear for 100 bucks:cheers: so if you all can help would sure appreciate it! I have some pretty high goals for the car and drag week in the near but far future! :newb:

You wanna drag race,or go wicked through the twisty turns? A educated information ,would be outstanding........

I want to use it for drag racing only. but I also WANTED TO DO DRAG WEEK with Hot Rod Magazine, so with that said I got the parts orders for the engine (383 to a 496 stroke) and getting the EFI system here for Christmas. know I need to get the rear in and the suspension set up.

It's already mini tubbed but I have all the items to back half the car and I want to run a pretty big slick.yes to your answer

before you start cutting how fast do you want to go? weight of the car? hp from that 496?

if you running an NA wedge i doubt you'll need the space of a backhalf for tire.

When I talk to the folks that sent me the part for the engine they claim that I will easily have about 900+hp. With out the extra goodies I want to install. I would like to run it in the 7's.Weight looking to be 3200 lbs . Still working on if we will be going turbo or procharger. thanks 805

I'm going off of the outlaw 10.5 rule for 2013 if that helps

lol Oh S**T... i dont know your background with mopar motors but i really hope your planning on using an aftermarket block. With MP dissolving i dont know if the world/mp wedge/hemi's are still being cast in AL or Iron, i think Kolene went under, but Indy might still be making them. Please dont use a stock block of any year lol...

And beware of World cast iron blocks...

900 HP from a NA 496? Yeah, ok.

post before mine says turbo's or procharger. And thats about what my 512 will do when i max wedge port the heads and intake, little compression increase, ALOT more cam, and stacks:glasses7:

Rusty it will not be a NA but maybe you didn't ready all the threads, Rusty understand this I'm not some 18 year old with no money! Thanks 805 for the help! I have been looking a few blocks glad you gave me the heads up I'm just starting out with Mopar power so any hints always welcome.

Hey Bob yes I didn't have any instructions with it and I would like to know if there is a formula I can run to get it put into place.I know it not a easy 123 build but I can manage just need pointed in the right direction

to help get some weight off the front end i would run the 4.5" bore Maxx AL block. wont look stock but your way past that game... Nice thing with the 4.5" bore vs .060 over 440 bore is you'll obviously have alot more piston and thicker walls, while dropping weight. Nice thing to is you can run alot of crank so you can keep the rpm's down.

i'll go out and look through my papers in the garage. I think I have some on installing a 4-link. to start you need to get the hotrod up as high as you can to work under it comfortably. it needs to be level front to back and side to side, this is a must do.

Sal you can go to www.yellowbullet.com there forums have alot of well known chassis builders who can help you with this project. there are 2 forum threads that deal with suspension only.

if you sign up as a member be sure and hit the newbie thread and introduce yourself. they can be brutal to newbies not doing this. lol

Artmorrison use to have a video on how to install a back half and I think Chassis Engineering did also. Youtube can be some help also

ok, I went out to the garage this morning in my pj's and was just able to look through the papers on the book shelf and found nothing. I couldn't stay long as it was a tad cold so I'll grab more coffee and get dress properly and go out and look for a box I have with more stuff in it.

Sal, here is a site that has some info. It doesn't specifically deal with a Mopar, but has some good info in the rear suspension section. Just follow the links within.

Keep in mind these "instructions" are pertinent to the chassis systems they sell, some things will vary I'm sure. I found this site a couple of years ago and thought it was a bit interesting.

im going to ask... whats under the car now? if its the pic in your avatar it already looks like its linked and tubed. I don't know why you want to backhalf the car if you already have the link system and tire clearance

thanks guy for all the great info! 805 that is the stance I'm going for. it a random pic that I found to help my self-esteem...lol I posted a pic of the car how i got it! from the guy if yo look close you can see the idiot drop it from the jack stand and crushed the quarters
