After my recent escapades with SOMETHING putting a hole in my oil pan, I started to drop my pan, but am having lots of trouble dropping the centerlink. Advise please!

If there is enough room, after you take the nut off the joints, use two hammers to beat on the sides of the part that the joint slides through. Hold one hammer against it, and hit the other side really hard. The joint will usually pop loose if you can get a good smack on it.

If there's not enough room for that, you may need to buy or rent a puller. I don't recommend using a pickle fork.

I will try the hammer method. Never done that before. Quite irritated at this point. Thanks.

Just don't hit the joint itself. Don't be tempted to hit the threads with the hammer, even with the nut put back on.

Haven't been back out to the car yet. Taking a break, plus football is on. Need to find out soon what the damage is on the internals.
