I've already searched related threads and couldn't find any suggestions. I'm trying to mount my driver side sub-frame connector, but I can't figure out how to remove the E-brake cable from the crossmember. I've tried pinching it from the back with needle nose pliers and one of the tabs broke off. I've tried using a hose clamp from the back and it wouldn't budge.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get this thing off without damaging it? I plan to relocate it above the connector after I enlarge the existing hole, like in the attachment shown.

BBD.com mentions a grommet, but if there is one, I can't find it.

The service manual for 66 isn't much particular help:

"Using a screwdriver force cable housing and clip out of crossmember."

Thank you. That was enough info to let me know that I was being too gentle with it. The screw driver wasn't enough to get it, but after I beat on it with a punch and a 3 lb hammer, it had no choice but to come out.
