A couple of months ago a co-worker asked if I'd be interested in some old parts her dad had. Come to find out he had had an auto parts store that closed down in the early eighties. I brought home over 3 truck loads of stuff. I've went through all the gaskets and sorted them out, but alot of the other stuff, the companies have been bought out and changed names so I'm having a tough time figuring out whats what! About to the point to turn it over to someone else with more time. I NEED MY GARAGE BACK!!! One whole bay is full of this stuff. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks ozz383

In a populous area like IL, I would think you could trapse around and find some old--school parts stores, and maybe crowbar some old catalogs out of some people.

You might actually have to buy a few off ebay. Now that "everything" is stupidly computerized, I wish to 'ell I'd saved some of the old paper catalogs I had.

I wish you were close to me. I have over 1000 parts books and some go all the way back in to the 1920s. Where are you in southern Illinois?

I'm about an hour north of evansville in. They had some books but of course the carb and electrical ones are missing. I know ther are close to eighty carb kits in there. I have been able to figure out what some of them are. But I think the real value is in the electrical stuff. ozz
