I got this blower from the previous owner with the purchase of my car. Apparently it is a Paxton military surplus piece that he picked up, along with a blow-through Stromberg WW and a blower box, with the potential intentions of making a force-fed /6. The trouble is, I don't know any technical specs on this unit. I believe the previous owner told me this thing flows 550cfm, but I can't remember for certain. Anybody ever run across this unit or something like it? If I can find more info on it then I might consider throwing it on the old leaning tower...

Where is Prine when you need him:) Prine is a turbo supercharger guy with lots of knowledge. You may want to pm him with this thread and see if he knows what it is. I sure don't:)

Do you know anyone that does heating and A/c work? They should have a CFM meter, to check air flows at the ducts, it won't be real accurate but you'll be able to say if it's around 550 or ???...

Funny you ask that, my best buddy's dad owns his own HVAC small business. I'll check with him and see if he's got one. Good suggestion!

Here I am. If a turbocharger, or supercharger and a mopar are in question on THIS forum, I will eventually see it...I lurk and read quite a bit.

If you want my honest opinion....I would call that some sort of Fluid Pump.

If it were a supercharger, or blower,...the blades would be more similar to:

the inlet blades look to dull to move air....water pump of some sort is my guess.....EDIT: yeah the blades are backwards...its not a Blower....its a pump.

That is what I was thinking.. I looked at it earlier and it just connected "Hey! Those blades are backwards!"

I'm a little confused, then--by two things. One, the serpentine pulley. I can't think of any other application of this thing that would require a serpentine system. Secondly, even if it is a centrifugal pump, shouldn't the theory of it be the same as that of a centrifugal supercharger? Blade orientation aside, whatever moves through the thing is going to go in through the [larger] axial hole and hit the impeller then divert through the [smaller] downstream hole and flow some amount of increased pressure. The opposite wouldn't make sense.
I'm not trying to hold onto some hope that it is a special old supercharger or anything, but regardless of its origins shouldn't its design have inherent pressurizing capabilities?
