Help! replacing transmission

I dont know how much fluid the transmission or the torque converter should have its a 1976 904 transmission for a slant six

this may be helpful http://www.carcraft.com/techfaq/116_0701_tci_transmission/gear_ratios.html if your converter is empty pour a quart or so in it and another 5 in the trans and start from there. it may take up to 2 more but add slowly as you dont want to overfill it. the dipstick will say to check in park or neutral cant remember which.

Neutral, at idle, hot.

the stick says, and i quote "hot idling in neutral" and like was mentioned above,try not to overfill. bad juju.
