Help what are these wires for!

71 duster 318 doing the mad electrical upgrade(thanks del for the info) and noticed this. Its a thicker blue wire and a thinner blue w greyish white tracer on the other side

Melting there is kind of common. Ignition switch feeds, blue with tracer goes to various items hot at switch on.

If you can blow this up it may be of assistance I know it's the wrong year....

According to my 71 fsm, it appears to be your Ignition 1 wire which ultimately goes to your ballast resistor and voltage regulator.

No need to do that you can go to MyMopar and download the factory service manual, as well as "same as" what you posted in "full size"

i know that on my car blue wire go'es to fuel guage 66 dart
