Help with missing part?

Had this 904 rebuilt a couple years ago and never looked at it. When i pulled the plastic off of it the other day I see a hole near the shaft. Can someone tell me what goes in the hole? thanks Walt

I think that is where your speedo cable mounts to

Speedometer gear housing. I don't see a drive gear on the output shaft either. Kinda dark in there though.

make sure you get the right gear that goes with the size of your rims.14 or 15 inch.

Speedo gear is based on tire diameter and gear ratio....not rim size.

Cant believe the rebuilder didnt clean things better. Looks almost used instead of rebuilt. Some dont take pride in their work.
