Just a"what-if", to ponder. Not the 5.7/6.1 stuff ,plopped on a "A", but a head designed specifically for ? It would need some of the features of the late heads, like squish, quench and fast burn.Good street compression with little/no dome. Relatively light and simple valve train. One plug per cylinder with an old school look ? Good low-lift flow #s and strong enough to hold some power ? Yes, it would need it's own intake manifold, cam and "maybe" 5.7's exh. ? Why bother ? Not everyone wants a 426" or 5.7L style Hemi. 408" short blocks are pretty affordable these days. I know, a big, what-if, ateam.

Rod and Custom Machine tried it but the idea never flew.

I've never compared the 265 head to a 225 block, but I doubt it'd work. The 265 bores are almost the same as a 318. (I don't know what size the 225 bores are off the top of my head. (I did see a slanter with a hemi head made from late model hemi heads though.
