Hemi in a Dart

I've built street rods for years, mostly with Mustang II suspension, Chevy engines and the like.
I'm giving serious consideration to putting a 426 Hemi in a 1968- 1969 Dart. With that in mind, I have the following questions:
Will a 426 Hemi fit in the 69 Dart engine bay without having to refabricate the engine bay sheet metal?
Is after market sheet metal available, such as inner fenders.
Will the stock suspension carry the weigh of the Hemi, and if not where does one go for upgraded suspension parts?

Depends on what your end game is. If you want a car that handles, has lots of options for suspension setup's, and is well built then you want the Hemi Danny kit. If you want to stay true to the SS Hemi cars your going to want to give us a call. We reproduce alot of the parts for the Hemi SS cars, including the full engine mount kit with the K spacers.

Now with the "HDK" im afraid i dont have much info on what has to be modified or used to work, but there is a huge thread on the subject by his customers. What i can tell you is about how it was done originally and how we do it. The Passenger side shock tower needs to be adjusted to give clearance for the valve cover, actually more so you can get the cover off after the engine is in. If your running a stock bellhousing 4spd/auto you may or may not need to slit the lip in the trans tunnel and flatten it out, but on the Lakewood bellhousing its a have to. With raised port heads and/or tall valve covers you run into issues with headers (passenger side) and with the master cylinder, even on the offset block. Other thing that comes to mind is with the Aluminum MP crossram the carbs stick up so high that the taller Hemi scoop has to be used, which is not correct and ugly IMO. The Mag crossram fits just as it should, and you can use the air horns if you so choose as they sit flush with the hood.
