My diablo is updated to the most recent one for 05s that still retains EGR delete. Diablo said all the croms after that were for newer model years and would cause an issue on the 05 (lose a few options because of PCM differences).

ok I get ya that sucks cause one of the updates, fixes the mds surge, you could try it cause you can always go back to your origianal tune if you dont like it, thats the best part of these tuners you can always go back, the other thing you could do is send Diablo your current tune and they will put the surge mod in your current tune, I am surprised they didn't offer that to you. I like Diablo those guys are very helpful IMO.

Well that woulda been nice...but too late now. The Comp 268 cam doesnt play well with MDS lifters, so MDS will be forever gone when it goes in
