I have a 74 Duster that I am restoring and Have misplaced the support rod for the top of the A/C Compressor to the intake. Anyone have one that is in the way and not needed, thanks.

Would this be for a /6?
If so, I may have one. Shoot me a PM.

I have a pretty crusty original RV2 compressor from my 67 Barracuda with the supports still attached. Let me know if you think it could help you out. Shoot me a PM.

The support I need is on the top left side of the stock compressor as seen from the front (passenger side) and is round and bout 10" long with the ends flattened and drilled for the mount bolt on the comressor end and on the intake manifold end. Also do you know were I can get a set of the strut rods for the block to the trans bell housing. I must be missing a box because I can not find these either. One goes on the left anf rigt side of the engine and supports the lower outer sides of the bell housing on both my Dart and Duster SB engine installtions.

I have all three braces. I would just need to know if the transmission is a 904 or 727 and if the intake is still the stock 2bbl. A photo would help.
Thanks, Mark

The car has been converted to a 4 speed, but had a 904 to start with. The intake is a Edelbrock Street Master and has the boss on the top right side for the A/C braket. Thanks for the help. I am assuming that the side engine braces are still needed with the 4 speed, They may be even more helpful due to the amount of bell housing that is removable on the 4 speed trans set up. Or could there be an entirely different set for the 4 speed?

I don't remember seeing any for a 4 speed V8 car. The 6cyl's had one but I don't think the V8's did. As for the A/C strut, are you sure the boss is in the same place as a stock cast iron 2bbl. intake? Maybe post a photo and a couple of measurements. I've had a few aftermarket manifolds that wouldn't take A/C brackets.

OK, so are these brackets needed with a 4 speed bell housing? I would feel better if I could find the ones I had so I could check for fit, but if I can get a replacement set for a reasonable price, I would jump at the chance. The approx. dimension from center of hole on intake to center of hole on the compressor is 8". Any help? Here is a picture.

I have the factory A/C brace for a 318 cast iron 2bbl. intake. It measures about 8" like you stated but I can't promise the angles will be correct for your aftermarket intake. You should be able to modify it a bit if you have to. $10 plus $.88 tax plus $5.20 shipping to you via USPS priority mail.
Thanks, Mark
