I probly shouldnt have done it because of my back but i did. I climbed under the Dart to take the diff. cover off. I want to change the oil anyways. Im new at this but i dont know what i have for gears. 81/4 rear i know for sure. I hope i didnt dissapoint anyone.........Its not my rear end its the cars........rotest:

Easiest way to tell with the cover off is to put a white mark on one of the teeth of the pinion gear and spin your wheel and count how many teeth it has....then do the same for the ring gear....then divide the ring gear number of teeth by the pinion gear number of teeth and WALAHHH! you have your rear end gear ratio

Pretty sure there should be some markings stamp on the ring gear saying what ratio it is.Your rear lookssssssssssssss dirty better wipe it better lol.

Ring gear should have a ratio stamping on it as mentioned. I'll guess a 2.45 ratio or thereabouts

my dana ring has 41-11 stamped on it.

41/11 = 3.7272727272727272727272727272727

lol 3.73 is my ratio

i dont know if it's the same with 8 1/4's however

Just looking at the picture and trying to half count them it appears to be 7 and 19 showing so doubled would be 14 pinion and 38 ring....so I am going with 2.76 gear ratio....see if I was close
