Hermostat bypass hose delete

Is it advisable or an option to delete the heater bypass hose on a la 360 engine with the heater core still functional?

It seems a small hole drilled in the 'stat would allow for fluid to continue circulating before reaching temp?

I don't understand what you are asking. Are you trying to get rid of the short stub of a bypass hose or are you trying to get rid of your heater hoses?
