Hi everyone ive been searching this forum for awhile figured hell I may as well join for as much as I'm on here looking up info haha. I'm Josh from Ohio just picked up my first mopar ever this year, as ive always had chevys to tinker with. Little story, Its a 72 scamp thats been a strip car at least from the mid/late 80s so its bare bones in and out and chopped up all over. I picked it up drove it twice and then put it on stands and tore the whole car apart front to back.
Decided I would rather have some what of a cruiser then a full out drag car so apart it came, and down the rabbit hole I went haha. So far this year its got the entire suspension rebuilt, swapped from drums to disks up front, replaced about 75% of the wiring harnesses as it was a chopped up mess. Swapped the gears out from 4.30/spool to 3.55/sure grip. Engine just got back from being checked up by the old timer who built it for my father in law back in the early 90s who I was able to track down and he was more then happy to help me out and see the car again. its a stroked 360, 40 over, 509 cam. It'll be rocking a 904 with a manual valve body and a turbo action converter from the original set up just so I can get it back on the road for now.
Interior was empty besides to racing seats and the dash, so far I've layed new carpet, the back seat which was unfortunately cut up to fit around the roll cage many years ago but I put it back in anyways. threw in a few autometer gauges sence the dash doesn't work and I'm just guna rock it for now haha. She's rusty and beat up but paint and body work just aint in the budget this year so its guna stay that way. I'm shooting for a nice little cruiser i can get groceries in haha.
I always forget to take pics along the way unfortunately, I get in the turning wrenches zone and time just zips by.
