Higher Gear Available for '61 A-Body?

Anyone here done it or knows IF it can be done using the original housing?

My '61 Lancer is an automatic.

Looking into more of a road gear than the stock 3:23 gear.

What say the experts here?

WHAT REAR AND RATIO YOU HAVE NOW? Higher is the 2.0 and lower is the 4.0 it is confusing.
 
Yes there was a 2:94 offered in the early 7.25 rear ends. This is the tallest (lowest numerical ratio I know of) that bolts in without any mods. I recently made this change after moving from the city to the country and am thrilled with the result. There is a 2.4? & a 2.7? ratio in later 7.25's but uses larger bolts to attach ring gear to carrier. Could be other differences as well. However whole rear ends, drum to drum, regardless of year are interchangeable into your early "A".
