i have a 73 scamp with 245/60/r15 tires on the rear, i want to keep that size on the car, but so far i can only find tires that are " s " rated ( up to 112 mph ) do anyone make that size tire with a higher speed rating ?

Hate to tell you brother, if you want a better tire then the 80's had to offer in technology development, your going to have to step up to a 17+ rim.

Sorry for your loss.

What about the front tires?
There is almost nothing like that in 15". You'll almost have to go to at least 17" to get what you want, front and rear.

i wouldnt know where to begin to figgure out what type of 17s would fit my car

Simple. Even us old guys do it. did it. will do it.

Do research, and Google. If you don't have one this requires a "real" computer. By that I mean a laptop or desktop, and not a touch thing, tab thing or phone thing.

ASK on here

SEARCH on here. Many of the guys on here are running 17's. The Stang wheels are fairly popular. I had two on mine on the rear, earlier (see the photo) and it will have 4 grey ones when / if I get it back together. Some require spacers.

You can get a limited number of better tires in 16" sizes too.

Front: 215/55R17, 215/50R17, 225/50R17, Rear: 225/50R17, 235/50R17, 245/50R17, 245/45R17, possibly 255/45R17.

If I had your car I'd put 225/50R17 on the front and 245/50R17 on the back.
