Well like I say it HAS to get air to run. Just like a carb, if you close down the air (throttle blades) it will idle down lower and lower until it dies. So throttle blades position or fit/ leak, or leak anywhere into the blower / manifold system. What I guess I'd do until you get somewhere is pull off the blower belt.
