Any thoughts about wiring a 650 CFM Holley electric choke circuit through the OE choke resistor ? The instructions from Holley say to wire to a 12V power supply.

Kinda thought so. Thanks for your input. Wasn't sure about the choke heater,especially with an Edelbrock Aluminum manifold with no heat crossover. Will likely still wire it with the 3 prong oil pressure sending unit so no current is supplied prior to engine start up. Thank you again for your help.

If you still use an ignition system with a ballast, there is no/ very little current there anyhow, as the "run" wire goes dead during cranking.
One thing you for sure want to do, is check for voltage drop, as that run circuit is very prone, and affects charging voltage.
Turn the key to "run", with engine stopped. Stab one probe of your voltmeter into the top of the battery POS post. Stick the remaining one to the key side of the ballast. You should should read very little, the less the better, More than .3V (about 3/10 of one volt) look for the cause. Bulkhead connector, key switch, and switch connector. You can cut the "run" wire coming out of the bulkhead, into the engine bay, use the firewall end to fire a relay, and use the relay, fed by a large fused/ breaker wire from the start relay, to then feed the load/ engine bay end of the "run" wire.
