I just put a new Holley dual feed carb
on my 383 in the cuda. I bought a Jegs
fuel line 555-100824 and installed it.

The problem is the fittings are as tight as I
can get them and fuel is spaying past the gaskets
on the fittings at the carb inlets.
Question is, according to Jegs instructions
teflon tape or sealer should be put on all
fittings, Has anyone done this?
I have always had the gaskets only and not
had a problem.
The fuel pressure is 6 psi and the floats are
set with fuel just at the bottom of the sight
plugs.
thanks,

check the surface of the bowl where the gasket is supposed to seat. There is usually some seam flash that will hold the gasket back from sealing.

Thanks for the reply.
I checked and there did not seem to be any thing
there. I went ahead and wiped the gaskets
clean and the carb seat with alcohol, then put teflon
tape on the fittings. One of them solved the
problem as it quite leaking under pressure.
thanks again

Teflon tape shouldn't be used on fuel fittings, the reason being pieces of tape will break off and end up stuck between the needle and seat causing the engine to flood badly or worse. The washers behind the fittings should seal properly, you need to find the cause.
