For those who are familiar with my two part Epic Road Trip over the last two summers, I am pleased to announce that we made it home to Washington State late last week! Here are the brief numbers involved:
Starting in Vashon, WA 6/1/23 my wife and I drove down the Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica, took Route 66 to Chicago, and then the Lincoln Highway to Delta PA - 5230miles.

In 2023 I then went to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals where the Plum Crazy 1970 Dart GT took second place in class, and a Celebrity Pick Award. I then headed to Columbus for the Mopar Nationals where the car took first place in A-Body Modified and was one of 5 Top Picks of the field (by Cliff Gromer no less), and then headed to New Hamburg Ontario (Canada) for MoparFest. After overwintering the car in Delta PA I hit Carlisle again for the 2024 Chrysler Nationals where the car took first in class. Those 'side trips' totaled 2735 miles.

A month later we headed to MoparFest again, headed southwest across Michigan to Chicago and did all of Route 66 again, then up the Pacific Coast Highway to Home in Washington State. Another 5282 miles.

The whole trip totaled 13,247 miles.

It was a Great Trip (or Trips). If you want to talk to people along your road trip, build an A-Body and paint it Plum Crazy! All across the country, people saw the car as an invitation for conversation, and I heard hundreds of stories about the Darts in people's past, and hot rod Mopars that they experienced.

Excellent! Congrats . Drove my 73 340 4sp Dart from Idaho to Minnesota, raced it and drove home . These cars were made for driving .

Consider me jealous... I consider my 500-1000 mile trips pretty good adventures turns out that's amateur class road trippin....

Sounds like an excellent trip! I tried driving Route 66 from Chicago to California in the 90s. The route was very well marked all the way through Illinois but was tough going after I got into Missouri. I abandoned my plans and just took the interstate the rest of the way. I suppose it would be a lot easier now with the internet and GPS.

Beautiful car by the way.

Great trip  I had the pleasure of meeting you and checking out your car at Moparfest this year. You folks are good people.

Congrats Mike! As CFD244 mentioned, it was awesome meeting you and your wife(and the dart). Well done on the dart and the tour!

Congratulations Mike and Tina on finishing your epic road trip(s) in style. Excellent work building that Dart the right way!

It was really great to meet you Canadians at Moparfest and to actually see folks I have talked with on FABO for years! Special thanks to Larry and the Mopar Mad Men of Hamilton ONT. Hospitality goes a long way when you are far from home! You guys started something - Larry gave me a 70 Dart Rock Auto magnet and the Mad Men gave me one of their Magnets and I put them on the inside of my trunk lid. This is the lid after another 5000miles of magnet collecting! (sorry about the blurry photo)

That's cool!

Very cool! I was hoping you were going to make it to the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2023 (unfortunately, I missed it too (Covid)). That kind of road trip(s) shows the skills you have! Kudos to you good sir!

Super cool travels, I'm jealous. Once I get the wagon road worthy to consider a long-distance trip, Route 66 is one of the first on the agenda. Glad you and the car made it the whole way safely.
