I kind of like them painted black, you don't see them at first glance. A friend of mine fabbed up a pair of older Nascar style dumps for his car & powder coated the a semi flat black. Until I got close to the car, I didn't notice them.

Like the idea of it, and like the creativity side of it.

      Hot Rodding the cars !

      Fun, Fun . . .

If you want to loose the shackles you can make up a pair of these lift brackets that go between the factory rear leaf spring mount and the unitized body sub frame bolt in area.

Lift brackets here on this '74 Swinger with stock rear shocks.

15" custom made rear rally wheels on this one too, 15 x 7 SBP.

You unbolt the Stock shackle turn it 90°, bolt the lift bracket to it through the 2 holes, then bolt the horizontal part if the lift bracket back into the factory holes, Think I did a little redrilling there to make it stronger where it bolts up to the sub frame, 2 bolt mount there too. Can put a reinforcement plate up inside the box section of the sub frame for more strength too.

Orrrrr . . . Just put on Monroe Max airlift shocks from Rock Auto with your factory mounted leaf springs. That works too, they give a nice ride and lots of adjustability if hauling around more people.
