Hood and trunk retaining clips: 1967 and up

Hey, everyone. Does anyone know if the 1967 and up hood and trunk retaining clips work with the earlier cars (specifically 1964)? The guy selling these says he "thinks so." I'm skeptical. I know they look different, but I dont really care if they work.
