The UP position has the least amount of tension on it. If you could get a binder strap pulling toward the door that would get pressure off the hinge then release the strap. Word of CAUTION those springs are like a loaded gun and will due great bodily harm if not careful.
A buddy who’s stronger than I am took mine off and one nearly got him even being very careful. I would have just cut them as I was converting to hydraulic lifts.
Large vice grips at the top, pull down, swing bracket out of the way, slowly releave pressure on the torsion bar till it is free. Same for the other side. Make sure you have a good grip on the vice grips....
