Gasspringsshop.com has video simulator animation thing that you put all your size, weights and pivot points, angles etc into and the program calculates everything and tells you which struts you need.Keep in mind that 60 lbs is only 60 lbs when the entire hood is weighed.
When the hood is supported by the hinges only about 1/2 the weight of the hood is in hand. BUT the struts are supporting the weight at an angle. So the weight the strut needs to support is multiplied by angles and such.
Vector math.
All I'm trying to say is it might need a much stronger strut than would be for a 60 lb hood.
The tailgate on my minivan is almost too heavy to be lifted without just 1 strut
That's awesome!Gasspringsshop.com has video simulator animation thing that you put all your size, weights and pivot points, angles etc into and the program calculates everything and tells you which struts you need
