Horsepower guess?

throw the magnum heads/air gap on there and run it. it works well for me. Just make sure you use the summit 7.650" pushrods with the magnum heads and flat tappet cam. any shorter and you will have lifter tick

I'm taking an '87 +.040 shortblock, sticking a cam in it, and fresh bone stock Magnum heads drilled for the LA intake for my truck. I need torque, not HP... well, that and rods that dont rattle :D. I dont really care about compression at this point. You can go out of you mind worryign about things, or just accept it and go enjoy it. There's always the NEXT engine to build...

So this just came up....got offered a Lunati 60401 cam, brand new for $50. ...thoughts?

Thanks!

the exhaust lift on that lunati cam will defiantly be too much for the stock springs...and you'd surely have to check seat-retainer clearance.

Try to do a search for GM 3100 springs. I hear they are a cheap HP spring for magnum heads.

Think I am ok on the seat/retainer up to about .525...at least that's what I have been able to find.

And was probably gonna change springs anyway....so many opinions about the stock Magnum springs...

I am wondering how the rest of the Lunati 60401 cam specs look to everyone?
