Hot Rod Drag Week---Dallas TX

-
Thanks for the support!! Yeah I found some extra power when I redid my fuel lines right before we left. I upgraded from 5/16" hard line and rubber hose to all -6 AN braided stainless. I'm currently qualified for the 32 car field in 23rd position with a 12.105 average. I have kept quite a bit of weight in the car with all my tools and such so I am hoping that it will still be in the 12.0x range. We'll see after making my final qualifying pass today.

Hope you can get it in today. Been watching the track cam and with that cloud cover and 100% humidity i'm wondering how conditions will be. Especially for the big boys. Good luck in your bracket Jason, i'll try to keep watching.

Is that a triumph TR6 with some sort of v8 & drag setup? First off, how in the hell did they do that, i've seen those engine bays. A modern 2.0 4cyl is a squeeze in that engine bay and secondly, that's got to be the scariest car to drive. Even if it only runs 11s, its sketchy, sideways in every gear 11s. lol

The car was stretched 12".

Live feed for today if interested

Looks cloudy, i always hate making passes on those days, you never know when nature will end your day early.

UOP "Jason", just made a pass but there was no commentary to tell what he ran? :violent1:. Looked good though:D.

I don't think they've said the word "mopar" and "rx7" in the same sentence all week. Most people here think it's got a sbc or ls1.

12.13 @ 113

12.20 @ 103 (letting off at 1000 ft to purposely scrub some time)

They did talk on your 2nd pass. Figured you dumped the finish when i heard the 103. Funny about the engine, i told my wife everyone thought it was a sbc...lol. That p/u sure made a awful mess. Are you going for 1 more trial or a you ready to go racin?

I'm good to go. I left weight in the car all week on purpose so I could pick some up when I made the 32. I've got about 100 lbs worth of tools and such to drop before we start the race so I think I just might be ok. My weekly average after that last pass is 12.12, which will make my automatic dial in a 12.02. Hopefully dropping the weight will put me within .05 or so from it. We'll see.

:D If you have lane choice take the right :D. Seriously, Good luck and as long as the feed stays on i'll be there.

Well the big boys are getting lined up in the staging lanes for one more shot. They should scrub that left lane back into shape, but if not it's past the 1/8 so it probably wont make a difference with my car.

Gotcha.....Some activity now toward the front half, should be going soon. This is exciting!

Congrats to member "UOP"...Jason, for a sucessful Drag Week. Unfortunately rain has shut it down early.

Your car sure liked the Tulsa air at 112.5-113MPH.

Nice on keeping the ballast in the car all week. Looks like you treed the guy in the one pass I saw pretty good.

Congrats and good job. Glad you had fun along the way!

Oh yeah it was a blast, I already want to go again next year. Hopefully the event won't be too far away. The car ran good all week. I think on the last pass (1st rd eliminations) I was on my first 11 sec run but I let off to avoid breaking out.

.011 r/t
1.64 60 ft
7.63 1/8
89.24 mph

12.033 1/4
110.65 mph

12.02 dial-in

Thanks again for the support. I found myself checking in on the thread all day.

Looks like I need to update my sig.....

no picts of my buddy in the nova sedan delivery! :D They finished 3rd in unlimited. Ran a 7.90 on saturday with a turbo'd small block. Averaged 14.6 mpg and no broken parts! I am not a chevy fan at all but thats pretty damn impressive!

heres a video of testing

Don't make a difference what someone likes, that car gets down!! I seen it run on the live feed link a few times. Very impressive!!

I watched all day yesterday and yes that was nuts, i loved it. The uglier Fairmont wagon (sorry, just my opinion) runnin' 8 teens was no slouch either. Absolutely amazing what some of these boosted/sprayed cars can accomplish and still put street miles on them.

Yeah that thing is pretty bad ***, it absolutely screams when on a pass.

Congrats UOP........I missed looking you up in Dallas. I have a buddy in Dallas with an unfinished 85 RX7 with a sbf / Tremec 5 spd in it if you know anybody looking for a project.
